As I start to write this blog, I thought it might be nice if I share a bit about myself. I am a full-time college student at a local university, and while I love thrift shopping, it is not my full-time job. Still, it defiantly helps out my budget (being the poor college student that I am). Plus, as most girls would agree, shopping can be a nice break to the never-ending sea of homework. I grew up as a casual thrifter, and it probably was not until I started college that I realized I could not only save money by thrifting, but I could make some money, too. (Can I get an “Amen!”?) I started this blog after several people started asking me questions about my thrifting adventures. That look on people’s faces is just priceless when they compliment you on your bag/coat/shoes and you casually say, “Thanks, I got it at Goodwill.” The other day my roommate said to me, “How do you always have such cute clothes, but you spend four times less money on them than I do!?” Well, that my friends, is why I am writing to you, because everyone deserves the chance to become a thrifter in the rough.
What about you? How did your thrifting hobby start?
